Company History

Founded by Jay Wiener in 1997, CorTechs began doing business in July of that year. CorTechs’ original mission of delivering superior software development and maintenance productivity using advanced tools and techniques was compelling. CorTechs quickly became the fastest growing self-funded company in the Washington Metropolitan Area.

CorTechs’ focus on productivity through the use of advanced tools and techniques led to a number of significant partnerships with vendors of best-of-breed technologies in those strategic areas where CorTechs believed the greatest productivity gains were to be found. These included Computer Assisted Software Engineering (CASE), Software Quality Engineering (SQE), and Applications Lifecycle Management (ALM). For example, CorTechs identified Mercury’s (now HP’s) automated testing tools as best-of-breed, and resolved to bring these to market in the most expert way possible, and as an integral part of CorTechs’ larger, full life-cycle SQE solution. Over the years, CorTechs has earned more Mercury certifications than any other company in the world, and CorTechs personnel are recognized software quality experts around the world.

Branching out into related solution areas, CorTechs now delivers a wide variety of full lifecycle software development solutions over and above our original CASE expertise, an expanded, enterprise version of our SQE offering which now includes IT Governance, IT Asset Management, Business Continuity, and other essential SQE and ALM areas. CorTechs’ customer list includes over 400 different clients on 4 continents, including Fortune 1000 companies, dozens of large Federal Agencies, both Civilian and DoD, and 26 U.S. States.

With record years in both 2005 and 2006, CorTechs’ message and value proposition remains compelling.
